A total of six bulls are let loose on the locals and tourists who wish to participate. This race requires you to be agile and if not, at least able to haul yourself over the barricades on the side walk. The rockets released before, during and after the festival signal when the bulls are released and when they’re locked up safely again.

People wear beautiful masks and indulge themselves of the flesh. For those who aren’t interested in the former, there is so much entertainment during the day; from canal rides on gondolas, jesters and jugglers at the street corner and musicians at every turn. When the sun goes down, you can be whatever you want to be at a masquerade ball and maybe even find someone special.
