Rio de Janeiro Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil- this carnival is nearly three hundred years old and is the biggest and most famous carnival in the entire world. This festival began as a food throwing event but then turned into a dancing festival somewhere along the way. It is said that approximately 2 million people arrive daily during the carnival to enjoy the festivities. It is best known for the huge floats and elaborate, yet sexy costumes. Day of the Dead
Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) in Mexico- this is undoubtedly one of the most well-known celebration in Mexico. Other countries have even started celebrating it as well. This holiday is used to show respect to relative, friends and other loved ones who have passed. People decorate their faces like sugar skulls and parade the streets in honour of this day; it is a beautiful spectacle to see.
